The 4th Annual Veteran's Appreciation Day was held on Saturday August 8, 2009, at the Cherokee County Fairgrounds.
Meeting area veterans -
Cecil Akins of Cherokee was on of the many area veterans that were the Cherokee County Fairgrounds on Saturday to celebrate the Fourth Annual Cherokee County Veterans Appreciation Day. Akins along with several other county veterans recently participated in the WWII Honor Flight to Washington D.C. to see the WWII memorial and other Washington D.C. memorials.
Watchful eye -
Cherokee County Veteran's Affairs Director - and Cherokee County Veterans Appreciation Day organizer - Dana Evans is pictured looking in on the many booths that were set up at the Cherokee County Fairground's Commercial Building during Saturday's Veteran's Appreciation Day.
Local talent -
Singer/songwriter Darrell Veencamp is pictured singing at the Cherokee County Veteran's Appreciation Day on Saturday. Veencamp performed many of his original songs, such as the "White Hat Blues," which he wrote about his experiences working in a local factory.

Cherokee American Legion President David Brown is pictured above giving a Certificate of Excellence to Jane Miller, for Miller's continuing support of the Cherokee American Legion.
