River Valley High School held its 2010 Graduation ceremony at Correctionville on Sunday May 16.
Helping hands -
Sometimes it's hard to get a good graduation robe to hang just right. Prior to RV's commencement activities, senior Brent Palmer was seen getting some help with his robe from fellow graduating Wolverines Cecilea and Gabriela Avina.
A cousin's congratulations -
A lot of friends and relatives were on hand to give the graduating RV Wolverines the proper send-off including Brent Palmer's kid cousin Taylar Dawkins
Proud grandparents -
For Kelsi Pry, a member of the RV Class of 2010, Commencement just wouldn't be complete without the presence of her family, especially her proud grandparents Robert and Phyllis Brauninger and her brother Ely.
Before they donned their commencement robes, graduating RV seniors Echo Bailey and Kylee Christensen couldn't resist trying their mortarboards on for size.
A hug from mom -
A lot of hugs were handed out before, during and after RV Commencement. For example, there was no way that proud mom Linda Johnson was going to her favorite Wolverine graduate, namely her daughter Tonya, graduate without one last hug
A commencement convocation of Kings -
Graduation for RV senior Devon King was truly a family affair. During the Commencement activities, she was cheered on by her proud siblings Mackenzie, Hunter, Noah and Jacob.
Final line-up -
After queuing up countless times for the recesses, field trips, lunch and other activities that went with their 13 years of secondary school days, the RV Class of 2010 lines up one last time before entering the high school gymnasium for their Commencement Ceremony.
Some Samuel assistance -
With only a short time to go before the onset of his school's Commencement ceremony, RV exemplary scholar and graduating senior Samuel Lundt receives some help with his National Honor Society collar from senior class advisor Ryan Brown.
One last song
The RV Commencement Ceremony also marked a sad musical moment as the Senior Choir Girls joined their voices in one last song, Be Like a Butterfly. They are seen in this photo giving their song one last run through under the direction of RV music teacher Wendell Brown before presenting it to the audience at commencement. The girls in the choir are Kelsey Roepke, Cecelia Avina, Devon King, Sarah Byers, Kelli Miller, Alyssa Munoz, Gabriella Avina and Stephanie Shever.
Tassel tips -
RV Wolverine and dues-paying member of the graduating Class of 2010 Kelsey Roepke received some tips on the proper placement of her mortarboard's tassel from RV senior class advisor Jane Lenz.
