The fifth annual Veterans' Appreciation Day was staged at the Cherokee County Fairgrounds on SAturday August 14, 2010.
Welcoming those in attendance -

Speaking from the heart -
Cherokee County Supervisor Mark Leeds was one of the many featured speakers during the Veterans Day Ceremony held at the Cherokee County Fairgrounds on Saturday. Leeds gave an impassioned speech on freedom and honor that all area soldiers deserve.
Formal declaration -
Cherokee Mayor Mark Murphy is pictured reading a formal declaration at the Cherokee Fairgrounds on Aug. 14, declaring that date as 'Veterans Appreciation Day' in Cherokee.
Traveling Tomb -
The Traveling Tomb of the Unknown Soldier was part of this year's Fifth Annual Cherokee County Veterans Appreciation Day. The Traveling Tomb is a three-quarter sized replica of the Tomb in Arlington Cemetery in Washington D.C. The Tomb represents a grave in which the unidentifiable remains of soldiers are interred.
