'The Christmas Belles' at Cherokee Community Theatre

Friday, November 12, 2010

The Cherokee Community Theatre is pleased to announce their first show of the 2010-2011 season, "Christmas Belles," by Jesse Jones, Nicolas Hope and Jamie Wooten - the same team that brought you the hilarious and beloved "Dearly Departed." The authors have scored again with this gem. Full of fun, this play is sure to make you ache with laughter as it warms your heart with the Christmas spirit. It's Christmas time in the small town of Fayro, Texas, and the Futrelle sisters - Frankie, Twink and Honey Raye - are not exactly in a festive mood. A cranky Frankie is weeks overdue with her second set of twins. Twink, recently jilted and bitter about it, is in jail for inadvertently burning down half the town, and hot-flashing Honey Raye is desperately trying to keep the Tabernacle of the Lamb's Christmas program from spiraling into chaos. Multiple problems of all kinds threaten to make the Christmas program a disaster, but in true Fayro fashion the sisters find a way to pull together to present a Christmas program that the citizens of Fayro will never forget. To reserve seats for the show, call the ticket line at 225-4440 and clearly leave your name, phone number and all of your reservation request information on the answering machine. To guarantee your reservation, all reserved tickets must be paid for, by cash, check or season ticket punch, and picked up at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled performance at the Cherokee Community Center box office during designated hours (Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 - 8 p.m.). Tickets are $10 apiece, and will also be available at the door on performance nights. Show times for "The Christmas Belles" are 7:30 p.m. on November 12, 13, 19 and 20, and 2 p.m. on November 14 and 21. The CCT Board of Directors hopes to see you at the show. The CCT's next production will be a children's theater production, "Honk! Jr.," coming Jan. 22 and 23, 2011.
