WHS Films as Literature class - Each year, students in the 'Films as Literature' class at Washington High School are asked to write, produce and student film and edit that movie. This year there were 52 students involved in the Films class and 16 movies were produced. Students used video cameras, music, and the i-movie program on Mac computers to complete this project. The students also had a lot of fun creating a screenplay based on each group's personal interests. At the end of the 2010 semester, students in the 'Films' classes got to view and critique each student film. Their final task was to vote on awards for the films. Jaylene De Vos, the 'Films and Literature' class teacher stated, "Congratulations to all the winners and all the competitors. I am very proud of everyone's efforts and great films."
