Visiting the State Legislature

Several Cherokee citizens, including a group of students, recently spent some time in Des Moines, visiting with State Representative Dan Huseman and State Senator Bill Anderson.

Sophomores from Cherokee Washington High School visited the state Capitol on Wednesday Feb. 23, 2011. Senator Bill Anderson, R-Pierson, and Representative Daniel Huseman, R-Aurelia, met with the students and talked to them about the legislative process and their experience as lawmakers. Area Realtor visits State Legislature - Joan Ballantyne of Delta Realty in Cherokee attended the legislative day for the Iowa Association of Realtors at the state Capitol the second week in February. During the event, she had the opportunity to meet with legislators, including Senator Bill Anderson, R-Pierson and Representative Daniel Huseman, R-Aurelia, to discuss legislation relating to the realty market in Iowa.
