    The Cherokee County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday confirmed the previous unofficial vote count making James Peck the winner of the ward 1 Cherokee City Council seat. Peck, the only candidate on the ballot, received 33 of the 53 votes cast in the special election on July 11.   • Board approves ISP vote (Local News ~ 07/26/06)
    The Cherokee School Board approved putting an Instructional Support Program (ISP) levy on the ballot Sept. 12, for a three year extension. The levy vote will be on the same ballot as election of school board candidates. The vote is to extend a levy that is already in place and has been extended repeatedly by a vote of the citizens every three years since first being approved in 1997.
