The Senate has passed the allowable growth for schools legislation, and has settled on a 4% increase. I was surprised that the majority party pushed the 4% figure since they campaigned on a 6% increase last summer and fall. Another broken promise, but apparently no one cares, or maybe people are not paying attention. ...

We know it's early, but it'll soon be springtime and word has it that home repair scams will be operating at record highs throughout the United States this spring, with their focus remaining on the elderly and naive. Spring is prime time for such con artists as we all catch a slice of spring fever and begin contemplating fix-up jobs such as painting the house, barn, garage, or other outbuildings; shingling the roof; gutter repair or replacement; improving landscapes; trimming, removing, and/or planting shrubbery and trees, etc.. ...
