Karter's Speedway opens (06/14/07)
The Cherokee County Fair Board unveiled a new go-kart track on Monday. With a small crowd of onlookers and area go-kart enthusiasts coming out to the Cherokee County Fairgrounds to take a test run on the new 1/8 mile track. The South O'Brien softball team won two of three War Eagle Conference games recently, defeating West Sioux 6-2 and Le Mars Gehlen 9-2, and falling 4-0 to rated Sergeant Bluff-Luton. Ashton Lansink rapped a two-run single in the second inning to get the Wolverines off and running in the win over West Sioux in Paullina. The federal government did the right thing in delaying implementation of new passport requirements for travelers not previously required to have passports until the government can catch up with a backlog of requests.
