Galva to celebrate 125th birthday (08/30/07)
The town of Galva is celebrating its 125th birthday on the weekend of Sept. 1-2, with numerous activities and events planned. The event kicks off with a big parade at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Dinner will be served in the park at noon, and other activities that afternoon include judging of the beard-growing contest; a quilt show at the Methodist Church, an art show at the Galva Library; a tour of the Galva school; kids' games in the park, and "Treasures of the Past" at 115 S.
