Fatal accident near Hinton (01/04/08)
One man died and others were hospitalized as a result of a near-head-on collision at about 8:30 p.m. on Saturday in Plymouth County on C-60 near Juniper Avenue, according to the Plymouth County Sheriff's Department. Dustin Nelson, 19, Le Mars, heading east in a Chevrolet Camaro, reportedly lost control on the road which was snowpacked and collided with a westbound car driven by David Brown, 59, Cherokee. Last week, the U.S. Census Bureau released population estimates for the nation, including the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Iowa's population, according to the estimate, grew to 2.99 million. The increase is a good news/bad news story. It's encouraging that the state's population increased and did not decrease, like Michigan and Rhode Island, but the rate of growth is far behind the rest of the nation...
