Cherokee Students go to Houston for NASA Competition (03/10/09)
Once again this year, a group of students from Cherokee Washington High School have gone to Houston, Texas to compete in the Space Settlement Design competition sponsored by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Five Washington High School students and their teacher, Jolene Hultgre, headed for LeMars on March 5. From there, they planned to board a bus for Houston with students from several other Northwest Iowa schools...
Readers 2000 Program going well in Cherokee (03/10/09)

Quimby voters approve change (03/10/09)
QUIMBY - The residents of Quimby went to the polls on March 3 from noon to 8 p.m. to vote to change the use of the 1 percent local sales and services tax in the City of Quimby. The unofficial results are 20 in favor of the change and 15 opposed to the change to the public measure, meaning that 57.14 percent of the total 35 voters voted for the change, which states that the revenues from the sales and services tax are to be allocated as follows: 0 percent for property tax relief, 75 percent for capital expenditures and repair, and 25 percent for Street, Water & Sewer improvements.. ...
