ISU Extension selects Regional offices, directors (07/13/09)
Sac City will be Regional office for this area AMES - Iowa State University Extension has selected office locations for the 20 Regional Extension Education Directors. Cherokee Chamber of Commerce awarded $1000 (07/13/09)
The Western Iowa Tourism Region has awarded $1000 for promotion projects to the Cherokee Chamber of Commerce. This was awarded in cooperation with the Iowa Tourism Office, Iowa Department of Economic Development. Julie Hering Kent, Executive Director of the Cherokee Chamber of Commerce, stated, "Cherokee was one of 14 communities selected to receive the Promotion Grant. The award will be used to publish a color brochure promoting the 2010 Cherokee PRCA Rodeo."...
Cherokee Farmers Market (07/13/09)
Despite the imminent threat of a severe thunderstorm, the Cherokee Farmers Market held an impromptu gathering on Thursday (July 9th) beneath the convenient canopy of the Historic Cherokee Railroad Depot. Normally, the Farmers Market is held on the lawn next to the historical landmark, but Thursday's storm forced the popular market to be held for the first time ever under the large canopy, which provided shelter from the storm for the many customers who come to this weekly event. ...
