A community comes together (10/01/09)
Local engraver Duane Diamond is shown on Tuesday working at the Cherokee Bacon Aquatic Center to complete 16 additional bricks engraved in the donor wall there. Each brick represents a pledge of at least $1,000 to the Gillette Park project, and more bricks remain to be engraved. Anyone interested in a brick to be engraved may pick up informational materials either at the donor wall or at City Hall. Photo contributed...

Careage Hills' 'Women's Night Out' (10/01/09)
Careage Hills is hosting its third annual "Women's Night Out" at 6 p.m. on Friday October 9, 2009, at the Cherokee Community Center. This year's theme is "Star Light - Star Bright," with motivational speaker Pat McGill. The menu for the meal consists of a choice of pork loin or chicken parmesan, salad, potatoes and dessert.
