A Cherokee City Street Department crew has been hard at it digging out existing ground cover at several downtown street corner beautification nodes and preparing them for a future planting of perennials. The engineers' original prescribed ivy-type ground cover proved to be a maintenance hassle and is being replaced by the perennials and wood mulch bedding. The decorative trees will stay.
