CFD to host 128th Anniversary Dance (03/08/10)
The Cherokee Fire Department will be holding their 128th Anniversary Dance at the VFW Club from 8 p.m.to midnight on April 24. PEO Fundraiser will be March 20 (03/08/10)
MARCUS - The local PEO group has decided to repeat last year's fundraiser to come up with money for their annual scholarship to be presented to a Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn graduate in May. Last year's brunch and raffling off of various purses was quite a success so the group decided to pursue the adventure once more...

MARCUS - As you may remember from Winter 2007, the Greater Marcus Area Troop (GMAT) 113 of the Boy Scouts of America dug an 8-man snow cave into a drift next to the farm drive at the Hoefling Family farm south of town and camped overnight inside it.
