Joint Board Meeting in Alta Monday (04/03/10)
The Boards of Education for the school districts of Aurelia and Alta will meet tonight (Monday) at 6 p.m. for a joint session in Room 3 at the Alta High School. Items on the agenda include approving a baseball sharing agreement; approving the athletic sharing agreement; discussion of the whole grade sharing agreement, with a goal of having this agreement approved at both Boards' regular monthly meeting on April 12; discussion of the process for hiring a shared Superintendent of Schools; and discussion of timelines for sharing, which would include appointing a joint advisory committee, scheduling joint Board meetings and planning a shared Iowa Core Curriculum and other shared professional development next year.. ...

Easter Egg Hunt Saturday (04/03/10)
The Cherokee V.F.W. and Auxiliary will hold their annual Easter Egg Hunt for children ages 1-10 on Saturday, April 3. The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at Koser Spring Lake Park. Be sure to get there early so you can get a good place in line...
