Iowa DHS will consolidate services (04/07/10)
DES MOINES -- The Iowa Department of Human Services announced Monday the department was consolidating three services, including a statewide child abuse intake unit that will be based in Des Moines. The new unit with 34 employees will consolidate eight units around the state with 44 workers. Intake units currently are located in Dubuque, Davenport, Council Bluffs, Sioux City, Ames, Des Moines, Waterloo and Cedar Rapids...
'Tastes and Sounds' tomorrow evening (04/07/10)
The Cherokee Music Boosters will be hosting the 14th annual "Tastes and Sounds" tomorrow (Thursday) from 6:30 - 8 p.m. at the WIT Convention Center. This is a fundraiser for the Cherokee Washington High School and Middle School band and vocal programs, and will feature ongoing music provided by the band and vocal students, as well as food and beverages provided by 16 Cherokee businesses...
