Marcus water tower in bad shape (04/29/10)
MARCUS - The Marcus City Council held a special session Tuesday noon to hear an updated report on the town's water tower by Dick Frankforter, representing McGuire Iron of Sioux Falls. The Department of Natural Resources required an upgrade of the vent on the tower but as workers tried to situate it, nothing solid was there to attach it to in the tower. Last chance for Community Theater auditions (04/29/10)
The Cherokee Community Theater will present the musical "Annie" this summer, and auditions for roles will be held tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Cherokee Community Center. The play has roles for 6-10 girls, ages 6 to 12, as well as a number of teen/adult roles, including Daddy Warbucks, President Roosevelt, Miss Hannigan, Rooster, a number of servants, and other "walk-on" and "crowd" parts. The Aurelia boys golf team finished fourth in the six-team field at Tuesday's fourth Northwest Conference Meet, played on the Aurelia course.
