Five arrests break Marcus hog theft ring (06/09/10)
The Cherokee County Sheriff's Department has arrested and charged five Marcus-area men with felony counts of hog theft and money laundering after a month-long investigation. According to the Sheriff's Department, an investigation into the theft of hogs from confinement buildings in rural Cherokee County has revealed that such thefts have occurred in the last 10 months and approximately 176 hogs were stolen and transported for sale at area sale barns. ...
