WHS Car Wash Saturday (09/22/10)
Cherokee Washington High School students will be providing car wash services again from 9 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. this Saturday, in the Hy-Vee parking lot. All proceeds will go to help support the Music Department.
Harvest International will leave Cherokee (09/22/10)
Harvest International, an auger manufacturer based in Cherokee, has announced that the company will be packing up and moving from Cherokee to Storm Lake. Harvest International officials said they were in talks with Cherokee and Storm Lake for more than a year. In the end, they say Storm Lake's offer was just too good to pass up...
CRMC Radiology to host Open House (09/22/10)

Train quilt, leather jacket benefit Depot (09/22/10)
Again, at this year's Cherokee Depot annual Fall Family Fest, you will be able to purchase a chance at winning a handmade quilt, along with a black leather jacket, with all the proceeds going to the Cherokee Depot Renovation. The 90-inch by 65-inch quilt was started by Donna Waterbury who found images of trains and train crossings and transferred them on to fabric that she used for the quilt squares and decorated the quilt using red and dark blue for the outlines of the quilt blocks...
Burglary and theft arrests made in O'Brien County (09/22/10)
The O'Brien County Sheriff's Office and the Sutherland Police Department have arrested four individuals for their alleged involvement in a burglary at the Cargo Express convenience store in Sutherland at approximately 4:45 a.m. on July 17. The thieves broke a window to gain entry to the store, took beer and cigarettes from the store and fled the scene. ...
City's West Cherry Street project targeted for spring (09/22/10)
Long-ago planned and included in the City's 2010-2011 budget for design this year, the $2 million total rebuilding project of Cherokee's West Cherry Street is scheduled to be bid this December or January 2011 and the project begun next spring. The Cherokee City Council last week approved authorizing a $139,000 contract with the engineering firm DGR of Sioux City for the proposed Cherry Street reconstruction project to be bid this winter and work to begin in the spring. ...
