Cold temps cause a week delay on L-56 bridge project (12/03/10)
It will be another week before the L-56 River Road Bridge becomes open, reported Cherokee County Engineer Dave Shanahan to the Cherokee County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday. Shanahan stated, "Right now with the colder temperatures we can't go as fast as we would like." Shanahan and the Board reviewed several pictures of the bridge project through all the phases of the reconstructed efforts that began after this summer's heavy flooding that washed out the soil under the abutments of the bridge...
