Roysters purchase former Barlow Dentistry building (02/02/11)
Matthew and Valerie Royster of Cherokee recently finalized their purchase of the building at 204 W. Maple St. in downtown Cherokee that housed the former dental offices of Dr. John Barlow. Barlow and a crew removed the last of his dentistry and office equipment last week and the Roysters will embark on remodeling the space so that they can provide general mental health counseling there...

DVDs There is a fairly new collection at the Cherokee Public Library that is growing by leaps and bounds. It has the second highest checkout of all our materials and we are amazed at the demand we are experiencing. I am talking about DVDs. We didn't set out to be the movie center of Cherokee but since other venues have closed, we are turning out to be just that. We now have 2,062 DVDs in our racks and the number grows almost every day. In December we checked out over 1,800 films to our patrons...
