Funeral services for Lois M. Biggins, 84, were held Thursday, Feb. 3 at 11 a.m. at the Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake. Visitation took place on Feb. 2 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake , where the family was present for the entire time. Burial was in the Storm Lake Cemetery. Morningside relay teams advance (High School Sports ~ 03/07/11)
SIOUX CITY - Both the men's and women's 3200 meter relay teams from Morningside College advanced to Friday's finals at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships with school-record times in Thursday's semifinals. The men's team of Brian Gesink, Garret Ehlers, John Harris (former Galva-Holstein prep) and Monte Larson combined for a time of 7:40.95 to shatter the former school mark of 7:45.59, set at last year's national meet. The second All-School Reunion including high school attendees from Cherokee Public Schools, Immaculate Conception, and past/present teachers/administration is being planned along with the "Little Sioux Summer Fest" to be held July 1 through July 4. Cherokee woman injured in accident

The Iowa State Patrol Thursday finally issued a report of a traffic accident involving personal injury to a Cherokee woman in a collision that occurred about 8 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22. According to the Patrol, a vehicle driven by Beverly Ann Stines, 51, of Cherokee, was southbound on Riverview Drive and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Riverview Drive and the Iowa Highway 3 by-pass, colliding with a westbound tractor-trailer driven by Larry Allen Lundeen, 72, of Pomeroy...
