Pierson named President of PPI (03/28/11)
The Professional Photographers of Iowa recently held its annual convention in Des Moines. At that Convention, Cherokee's acclaimed professional photographer Doug Pierson was elected president of the organization. This was a true honor for Pierson. When he began his career in photography he worked in Fort Dodge in a professional color lab where he developed wedding photos. On March 23, U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley (R) came to River Valley High School to visit with the juniors and seniors. He spoke with the students for a little over an hour about the issues in the world today. The students had the opportunity to ask Senator Grassley questions on everything from the economy to world affairs.
