'Common Grounds' (02/15/12)
The Advanced Foods Class at River Valley High school has opened a coffee shop at the school on Friday mornings for students, teachers and the whole community. Cherokee woke up to several inches of snow on Monday to the surprise of many who have gotten used to an extremely mild winter. Meriden church to host the 'Shepherds' Table' (02/15/12)
The Meriden Evangelical Free Church has partnered with an organization called Zestos in Orange City so that they can provide a community meal once a month for the people of Cherokee County. Zestos was formed from an observance of one individual at his work place when he realized some meat scraps had hit the floor and rather than simply throw it away, he thought it would be good to feed it to his hogs.
