'Ernie's Incredible Illucinations' (02/16/12)
The Cherokee Middle School will present the play "Ernie's Incredible Illucinations" to the general public on Friday at 6 p.m. at the Cherokee Washington High School Auditorium. The starting time has been moved up to 6 p.m. because the Cherokee Washington High girls basketball team plays a Regional Tournament game at WHS at 7 p.m. Friday...

This week's Cherokee Chamber of Commerce Coffee will be hosted Friday By Darren's Clothing Company at 220 W. Main St. at 9:30 a.m. Darren will be doing embroidery demonstrations on Friday for those who would like to see the machines in action. It is kind of intriguing for those who haven't seen it. 'Great Pancake Day Race' is Tuesday (02/16/12)
The third annual "Great Pancake Day Race" planned for "Fat Tuesday" in Cherokee February 21 begins with the race starting at 5:30 p.m., followed by a brief Shriving Service at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, then ends with a fund-raising pancake/egg/sausage dinner at St. Paul's, with net proceeds benefiting our two community food pantries - Immaculate Conception and Mid-Sioux...

Cherokee Mayor Mark Murphy has tabbed Cherokee City Council Member Mick Mallory as Mayor Pro-tem for 2012. The Council Tuesday night approved Mallory's appointment after Murphy said he selected Mallory based on "Council seniority."
