Fire strikes Methodist Church (02/29/12)
At 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, the Cherokee Fire Department was dispatched to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 531 W. Main St. in Cherokee, for a fire which apparently started in the church's kitchen. Fire Chief Gary Chase said that both the kitchen and dining hall received extensive damage from the fire - which was pretty well burned out when the Fire Department arrived - and there was also smoke damage throughout the building...
