City Council approves new Parks & Recreation Board (05/21/12)
The Cherokee City Council in a recent meeting unanimously approved a motion that would authorize City staff to prepare an ordinance to create a City Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. River Valley Holds 2012 Graduation Ceremony (05/21/12)
River Valley Commencement exercises were held on May 13, 2012, in the Correctionville gym for 39 seniors. Superintendent Julie DeStigter welcomed the graduates, their families, and friends. Mr. Don Belson, Guidance Counselor, recognized the seniors for their academic excellence throughout their four years of high school. Knights complete fundraiser (05/21/12)
The Cherokee Knights of Columbus Calendar fundraiser is over for another year, and the Knights thank everyone who took part. From this year's proceeds, the Knights were able to present $50 checks to 60 winners and $500 checks to two lucky winners. Five $200 scholarships will also be given to area high school seniors, and on Tuesday, the Knights presented $750 checks to this year's selected recipients, the Cherokee Youth Summer Ball Association and the Christian Action Pantry. ...
