Cherokee County Fair full of family entertainment (06/28/12)
The Cherokee County Fair opens Thursday, July 12 and runs through Sunday, July 15 at the Cherokee County Fairgrounds. Daily admission will be $6 for adults (13 and older) and $4 for kids, with ages four and under admitted free. Supervisors mull time cards, wages, landfill loan adjustment (06/28/12)
The Cherokee County Board of Supervisors met at the Courthouse Tuesday for their weekly meeting. County Auditor Kris Glienke presented the Board with her concern about timecards for employees in her department being changed without contacting her first. Board Chairman Dean Schmidt agreed that all Department Heads should be notified before changes are made,and that steps would be taken to prevent any such incident in the future...
Biking team to benefit Cystic Fibrosis (06/28/12)
When RAGBRAI XL arrives in Cherokee Sunday, July 22, for its first overnight stop on this year's ride, Marcus Lumber will feature a team pedaling for a purpose that will participate on all or part of that first day's event. marcus Lumber is partnering with Owens Corning and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to form a team to benefit the CFF. A $25 entry fee gets you on the team and proceeds will be donated to the CFF to help find a cure for the disease...
