Cherokee man dies in multi-vehicle crash (07/27/12)
Larry Watts 75, Cherokee, was killed instantly at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in a multi-vehicle traffic accident north of Holstein on U.S. Highway 59 in Ida County, in a road construction zone. According to a report from the Iowa State Patrol, Watts' car was the last vehicle in a lineup of vehicles that were southbound on Highway 59 and were stopped, waiting for a pilot car to escort them through a one-lane work stoppage zone south of 110th Street in Ida County when a semi truck-trailer driven by Gordon Draskovic 46, of Windsor, Ontario, Canada, failed to stop and ran into the rear of Watts' vehicle.. ...
