Fire departments join in burn exercise (08/22/12)
ALTA - Several Cherokee County Fire Departments took part in a major burn exercise here on Sunday, as two wooden elevators at Ag Partners - estimated to have been built in 1959 - were burned to the ground in the exercise. Twenty-five fire departments from seven counties took part in the burn, including those from Aurelia, Cherokee, Marcus, Cleghorn and Quimby. ...

The second annual Life & Breath Trail/Fun Run benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation was held Saturday August 4th in the midst of a steady rain that did not dampen any spirits or prevent 150 runners and walkers from participating.
