$25 per acre cost share available for cover crops (09/05/12)
As of Aug. 30 the Cherokee Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) is offering producers a one-time payment of $25 per acre for establishing a cover crop. Since funds are in limited supply there will be a limit of 120 acres per applicant. Interested parties should stop by the USDA Service Center located at 314 Lake St. in Cherokee or call the office at 225-4151. KC Project Out-Reach kicks off (09/05/12)
The Cherokee Knights of Columbus started their annual Project Out-Reach this week. The group will be raising funds to help raise money for Cherokee County Work Services (CCWS) and Special Olympics over the next month. For 20 years the Knights of Columbus have been working to help those with disabilities.
