97th Birthday celebration (09/06/12)
Marguerite Roulstone of 724 Walnut St. in Cherokee will celebrate her 97th Birthday Sunday, Sept. 9 with her family and looks forward to receiving cards from well-wishers.
Chamber Coffee (09/06/12)

Grand Meadow Heritage Festival this weekend (09/06/12)
The 36th Grand Meadow Heritage Center will present its annual festival this Saturday and Sunday. One special event at this year's festival will the dedication of Ray's Blacksmith Shop, named in honor of Ray Todd, who donated many of the tools and equipment used in the shop. This is an open dedication, and it is the organizers' wishes that everyone stop by the Blacksmith Shop during their visit to Grand Meadow this year...

Supervisors approve construction projects (09/06/12)
At their weekly meeting Tuesday, the Cherokee County Board of Supervisors heard a report from County Engineer Dave Shanahan on three construction projects in the county. Shanahan reported that there were four companies that bid on the BROS-CO(60)- 8J-18 project (the 216 Bridge in Afton Township), and the Supervisors approved awarding the contract for this project to Dixon Construction of Correctionville...

This is an hour-long presentation that is beneficial for 11th grade students and their parents, as you all begin the student's transition from high school to college. Topics to be discussed include recent employment trends for high school and college graduates to determine the benefits of a college education...
