County Legacy applications available (11/29/12)
The Cherokee County Legacy Foundation has received $94,468.98 from the County Endowment Fund to be granted to local organizations for 2013. Grant applications may be picked up at the Iowa State Extension Office starting on Monday, Dec. 3. Landfill to close on Saturdays (11/29/12)
Cherokee Sanitary Landfill has announced that they will remain open on Saturday Dec. 1 and Dec. 15. After those dates, the Landfill will be closed on Saturdays until April of 2013. Members of the Cherokee Yacht Club Committee proudly display the fact that they reached and surpassed their goal of $400,000 for the new Koser Spring Lake Park Yacht Club, which is currently under construction. Donations are still coming in and it is not too late to take ownership in this project!
