Christmas Parade delightful for all (12/10/12)
Once again, Cherokee held another successful Christmas Parade on Thursday. Unseasonably warm weather brought out large numbers to witness this popular tradition. Normally this time of year Mother Nature keeps the temperature cold but tolerable, but Thursday's night's weather was a treat for all; however, there was a touch of precipitation as the 35 parade entries made their way down Main Street from the Cherokee County Courthouse to Euclid Avenue...
Storm Lake school vote passes (12/10/12)

MMC students raise "Heart' funds (12/10/12)
The elementary students at Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn spent their PE classes in November raising funds for the American Heart Association and getting to work with some wonderful community volunteers. Mark Brighton, the PE instructor, organized centers for the second and third grade students which provided the opportunity for the students to jump rope in various ways. He also organized centers for the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades with opportunities to learn a variety of basketball shots...
