RR crossing proposed (01/30/13)
The City of Cherokee has been seeking funding assistance from IDOT and CN Railroad for the past several years, and funding is now available and obligated for the West Cedar Street RR crossing project, with 90-percent of the total costs ($220,000) to be paid by IDOT and the CN RR. Ten percent of the costs ($22,000) is the City's responsibility. The funding is to be released in October 2013. The crossing will include lights and arms to replace existing signage.
