Paul H. Dillman, 67, formerly of Cherokee, passed away on August 6 in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. Paul was born July 8, 1947, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and he graduated from East High in Sioux City in 1965 and from the University of Iowa in 1969. He was very active in DeMolay during his high school years, and he later became the Iowa State Master Councilor. He served as an officer in the Navy for two years on the USS Cleveland, an LPD7, and later as commander of the Naval Reserve in Sioux City... -

At its Tuesday meeting, the Cherokee County Board of Supervisors had a discussion with Deputy Sheriff Jeff Friedrichsen regarding a proposed expansion of the Communication Center at the Law Enforcement Center. David Skou, who is the county 911 director, had told the board last week that he needs to have a bigger space for the communication center due to the need for more storage space for new equipment, and he had recommended constructing a "lean-to" building adjacent to the center for the new room.. ...
