Supervisors approve standard replacement bridge size

At Tuesday's weekly meeting of the Cherokee County Board of Supervisors, the supervisors approved Resolution #2014-11 by unanimous voice vote, setting a standard size for replacement bridges and culverts in the county. The resolution states that "new bridges shall be a minimum width of 28.5 feet for gravel and dirt roads, a minimum of 30 feet for paved roads, and new large culverts (culverts with an opening greater than 8 feet in width and 6 feet in height) shall be long enough to comply with clear zone standards. ...
