The Cherokee Braves split a pair of non-conference baseball games at Saturday's Cherokee Tournament and then went on the road Monday night to defeat Storm Lake 16-10 in a Lakes Conference slugfest. A-A's Fritz Outstanding 1A Athlete at State Track (High School Sports ~ 06/10/15)
ALTA - It was learned Monday that Alta-Aurelia's Mitchell Fritz was named the Outstanding Athlete in Class 1A at the recent Iowa High School State Track Meet. Fritz, a senior, competed in four events at this year's meet, finishing third in the 400 Meters in a school record time of 49.4, and anchoring three champonship relay teams - the Distance Medley, the 4 x 800 and the 4 x 400, all of which set new school records.
