The Cherokee Washington High volleyball team saw its seniors go out in style with a 3-0 sweep of Spencer in the final home match of the season for WHS and for outgoing coach Julie Hummel. Cherokee captured game scores of 25-9, 25-18, 25-22. BOONE- The Storm Lake Tornado swimmers continued their winning ways by picking up a pair of dual meet wins in Boone on Tuesday Oct 6. Against the host team, Boone, the score was 60 to 41, and against the other competing team, Carroll, the score was 57 to 44. Boone and Carroll tied at 51 points each in the other dual of the night. The Volkswagen company has issued apologies for making fraudulent claims of clean burning diesel vehicles and for creating devices to cheat on emission tests. An apology is not nearly enough. No individual has yet to be identified as responsible for the fraudulent behavior. In the likely event that someone is required to take the blame, the probable course of action will be that VW will offer up an individual sacrifice for behavior that obviously required numerous knowing participants...
