University of Missouri Assistant Professor Melissa Click received widespread criticism after she was videotaped calling for "muscle" to expel a journalist covering a protest on public space at the university. She has subsequently apologized. Ironically, Click has a Ph.D. in communications, apparently an accomplishment that can be attained without a fundamental understanding of the first amendment...

Last Friday, the Friends of the Cherokee Public Library hosted the Chamber Coffee as they always do in November. It serves as an official kick off to their book basket fundraiser which is currently underway. James D. Niebuhr (Obituary ~ 11/18/15)
James D. "Jim" Niebuhr of Adel, formerly of Aurelia, passed away on November 11, 2015 at the age of 69. Jim was born February 27, 1947 to Elmer and Gerda (Plagman) Niebuhr, and he grew up on the family farm near Peterson. He attended Brooke Consolidated School and later attended Aurelia Community School, where he later graduated in 1963. He then attended Buena Vista College to become a teache, and taught middle school history and coached at Schaller until he took over the family farm...
