Egg On My Face

Well, boy, do I have egg on my face. My last column was pretty much all about how great “Bingo Bonanza” was going to be, and we didn’t even have it! Yikes. Don’t count your chickens before they hatch, I guess. However, we had such an overwhelming response from the community about it; we did host it last night, Tuesday the 7th. Of course, I’m writing this on Friday the 3rd , so I told a little white lie there, but I’m sure by the time you are reading this, it went great!...

Cherokee SWCD tree fundraiser

The Cherokee Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is once again raising funds for conservation education by selling trees and shrubs. Proceeds from the tree sales are used to fund scholarships for Cherokee County high school seniors who will be pursuing programs of study in conservation or agriculture. Funds raised are also used to fund the District’s 4th grade poster contest, a Lunch ‘n’ Learn program for teens interested in farming, and the District’s yearly conservation tour...
