This past weekend, people of all ages in the area paid tribute to all veterans, especially those servicing during the Vietnam era and even more especially, those who made the ultimate sacrifice during the Vietnam War. The Cherokee Washington softball team split a pair of varsity games last Wednesday and Thursday. The Cherokee Braves traveled to Spirit Lake on Wednesday to take on 15th - rated Spirit Lake, and the Braves fell short to the powerful bats of the Indians , 9-1. The Braves had just three hits in the contest. Teagan Slaughter led the team with a double and a single, while Paityn Hagberg had the RBI single that plated Teagan Slaughter in the second inning with the Braves’ lone run..
