Alta, Aurelia Boards OK updates

ALTA - At their monthly joint meeting here Monday, the Alta and Aurelia boards of education discussed and approved several projects concerning the use of their facilities. One of these was the installation of a stair lift and folding ramp at The Roxy Theater in Alta, which is used by both the school district and the community theater group. The Alta Board approved the purchase of a stair lift for $3,400 and a folding ramp for $540, both items which will make the venue more handicap accessible...

Christmas and ‘Christmas Music ‘

It’s that time of the year where it’s awfully hard to escape “Christmas Music.” I put that in quotes because, frankly, a lot of what radio stations are passing off as “Christmas music” is hardly that. Technically, one could say that the only true Christmas songs are those which tell of the true meaning of Christmas - that is, the birth of Christ - songs such as “Silent Night,” “O Holy Night,” “O Little Town of Bethlehem” and “Joy to the World”, to name a few...
