IDA GROVE - The Ridge View baseball team evened their record in this young season at 1-1 with an 8-5 Western Valley Conference win here Thursday over Odebolt-Arthur/Battle Creek-Ida Grove. Ridge View trailed 5-2 going into the 7th inning, but scored six runs in that frame to take an 8-5 lead, and the Raptors shut the door in the bottom of the 7th inning for the win. Last week he Cherokee WHS softball team traveled to play East Sac County. They got down 2-0 after the first inning. but never looked back, scoring five runs in the fourth inning. Teagan Slaughter started the inning with a double to left field, JeMae Nichols followed it up with a hard -hit ball to left and advanced to second on the error.
