As the flood waters of the Little Sioux River recede and the dedicated, skilled City workers assess and again make and proceed with plans to remedy the damage, we must all join in shouting out a thunderous THANK YOU! The past too many years the Little Sioux, like an unannounced visit from a prying, unkempt relative, barges in on us when we least expect it, overstays its welcome, erodes infrastructure, causes spousal discord, and leaves a mess behind for someone else to clean up...

Defining a conscience (Column ~ 07/18/18)
Several years ago on a family vacation with our then 5-year-old son to the Badlands and Teddy Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota, we found ourselves relaxing in a motel pool in Medora, N.D. near the Montana border.
