We’re sorry for the angst and disappointment many Cherokee residents feel about the announced wham-bam closings of our Kmart and Shopko stores. As we’ve said before, Cherokee this is not your fault! Don’t feel guilty, helpless, or hopeless. A town of 5,000 and County population exceeding 11,000 certainly need a department store where basic consumer goods can be purchased. Someone will learn of and fill that void...
