Joseph “Joe” Kohn, the son of Marvin and Martha (Nilles) Kohn, was born November 15, 1945, in Cherokee, IA. His childhood years were spent in Cherokee where he attended school and graduated from I.C. High School in 1964. After high school, Joe worked at Perrin Fur Farm for a short time and then worked for Lubeck Oil in Cherokee for 44 years until its closing... -

It was a joy this past weekend to journey downtown Cherokee and struggle to find a place to park. The stores were open for the annual Cherokee Holiday Open House featuring holiday hours and Christmas shopping specials, and from the looks of things, many area residents (and several vehicles from surrounding counties!) were in town obviously to shop our friendly, dependable, well-stocked Cherokee merchants...
