Since my last article, the Cherokee Public Library co-hosted an event at Cherokee Middle School on the topic of careers in STEM and the library was actually highlighted as one of the careers in STEM. I know that it may sound a little weird saying that a librarian is a STEM career, but library services are extremely digital with how information management systems (IMS) control workflows for most of the library’s major tasks such as populating our catalog to keeping track of the thousands of patrons who have library cards and materials out at any given time. ...
